He was born in 1921 in Czechoslovakia. Herskovic joined the Czech brigade of the British Army and fought during the invasion of Europe. Herman Herskovic came to Cleveland, Ohio in 1947 and joined his cousin, Gilbert Rosewater, and brother, Martin Herskovic . Herman married Naomi Minster (1924-2017) in 1963 and both were very active in the Jewish community.
